Katie Watts - School Principle, Singing (Benfleet & Billericay)

Katie founded Urban Edge Theatre School in 2008, hoping to provide after school activities to children and teenagers not only keeping them fit and healthy but also improving confidence and social skills. Katie is now the course leader of an Edexcel level 3 extended BTEC diploma which she customised, tailoring it to align with today's Urban industry. 

Katie has appeared in many TV programmes and documentaries, one of which "True Brit", Katie was asked to perform an up-to-date urban national anthem. She writes her own songs and scripts and musically arranges vocal numbers for TV shows and dramas. She has worked extensively as an Actress for Qudos and many other leading production companies. Katie was also part of "Rhythm 6" who were the winners of Tap 2000 at the Bloomsbury Theatre in London. 

Katie is a very established vocal coach with students that include X Factor 2015 winner 'Louisa Johnson' and X Factor 2014 contestant 'Lauren Platt'. Katie was also a finalist for the award 'Young Entrepreneur' within the Essex business awards 2012. 

Sarah Sparrow - Street Dance (Benfleet, Elite & College)

Sarah has danced from the age of 6 competing in a number of street dance, Latin American and Ballroom competitions around the UK.

Sarah trained at Masters Performing Arts college where she was involved in performances at "Move It" Olympia and 2  "Glass Sklipper Balls" in the west end before graduating in 2009. In 2013, Sarah made it to the semi-finals in SKY TV’s ‘Got To Dance’ with her group ‘Poison’.

Since then she has been in a range of hair shows, including Babyliss and charitable events for Breast Cancer Care. Sarah has appeared on television dancing in a "Fame" documentary and at the Hannah Montana movie premiere.

She has always been passionate about what she does and really enjoys working alongside such talented students and teachers.

Joe Livermore - Breaking, Tricks, Popping & Locking (College)

Joe Livermore aka Bboy Unique has been breakdancing for 10 years and is part of two crews- "Methods Of Movement" and "Flava Squad UK. His worldwide experience includes: Theatre, live shows, TV and film work, Music videos, nightclub performances, corporate events, photo shoots, workshops/master classes and private bookings.

Joe started out as a gymnast at 7 years old and trained for 10 years, he was part of the British team for 7 of those. This experience helped him move briefly into stunt work before ultimately finding his passion in "bboyin". As well as teaching and performiing breakdancing, Joe also competes and has represented the UK in the world hip hop championships in Las Vegas.

Joe's previous work includes: Diversity's "Diversitoys" UK Tour, Blaze "The hip hop sensation" UK Tour, Karate Kid - Leicester Square premiere, Breakin' Convention - Saddler's Wells Theatre, Harry Potter, Britannia High, Heineken advert.

Jim Thompson - Acting (College)

After graduating from Newcastle College of Visual and Performing Arts 18 years ago, Jim has been working constantly. Having performed in numerous pantomimes at The Harlow Playhouse, Jim started teaching for Harlow Ballet before seeking out work as a professional actor.

He returned to teaching on a number of occasions and joined Urban Edge in 2010.  He believes that Children (of all ages) can still develop their skills whilst enjoying themselves.

Jim still performs, produces, directs and writes for theatre however can mainly  be found performing as Farmhand Bob at Willows Activity Farm in London Colney (near St. Albans) where he is also the Entertainments Manager developing shows with, of all people, Peter Rabbit.

Lauren Bigby - Acting (Billericay)

Lauren trained at Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she acquired her acting and speech diploma. Lauren also studied at Webber Douglas School of Dramatic Art and at The University of Nottingham.

Lauren has been in many films, one of the most recent beiong "Asylum Night" with Revolt Films in which she played the part of Lizzy. TV work includes leading roles in many commercials, two of which were for companies such as Nokia and Tesco.

As well as being a professional actress having worked extensively in Theatres across the UK, Lauren also teaches drama, directs and writes short stories, novels and plays.

Jake Debono Wilson- Street Dance (Billericay)

Jake Debono Wilson has worked all over the world, starting his career with a European tour of the show "Fire of Dance". After returning from that Jake then went straight on to travel the Caribbean sea's with Ocean Village Cruises.

Jake has danced on Broadway in New York City performing at the Lincoln Theatre in several big charity events. He has since been seen dancing in Bollywood movies as well as working with the BBC where he has appeared in a new documentary as a featured Street dancer.

Jake has also worked with David Guest, En Vogue, Deniece Williams and Peter Andre.

Charlotte Leonard - Singing (College)

Charlotte started training at the tender age of 2 at the Jacqueline player school of dance and continued to train at Colin's performing arts, graduating with a diploma in performing arts

Charlotte started singing in local venues as young as 9, professionally making her debut at just 11.  Since then Charlotte has gone on to perform in clubs, casinos, hotels, holiday parks all over the country and beyond.  As a solo artiste Charlotte has supported major artistes such as the stylistics, Jimmy Jones, Jim Davidson, the Osmonds, the Bay City Rollers to name a few. Charlotte has also performed in various bands, duos and tribute shows.At the age of 19 Charlotte started a drama school which she successfully owned and managed for 6 years. Charlotte now continues to perform and teach at various schools and also takes on private vocal students.
